Error Spotting — महत्त्वाचे ५० नियम

Error spotting हा इंग्रजीतील सर्वाधिक गुण देणारा प्रकार आहे. नियम मर्यादित असल्याने सरावाने यात पैकीच्या पैकी गुण मिळवता येतात.

Subject-Verb Agreement

1. 1.Singular subject → singular verb. *He goes* (not go)
2. 2.Either/Neither/Each/Every नंतर नेहमी singular verb. *Each of the boys is present.*
3. 3.Either…or / Neither…nor — verb हा जवळच्या subject नुसार. *Neither he nor they are coming.*
4. 4.Both…and नंतर plural verb. *Both he and she are here.*
5. 5.दोन nouns and ने जोडली पण एकच कल्पना दर्शवत असतील तर singular. *Bread and butter is my breakfast.*
6. 6.A number of → plural; The number of → singular.
7. 7.None/Nobody/Everyone/Someone → singular verb.
8. 8.Collective nouns (team, committee, jury) सामान्यतः singular.
9. 9.Percentage/fraction — of नंतरच्या noun नुसार. *Half of the apple is rotten.*
10. 10.Politics, mathematics, news, physics हे शब्द दिसायला plural पण singular असतात.

1. 1.A/An उच्चारावरून ठरते — *an hour, a university*
2. 2.भाषांच्या नावांपूर्वी the नाही. *He speaks English.*
3. 3.खेळांच्या नावांपूर्वी the नाही. *She plays cricket.*
4. 4.नद्या, समुद्र, पर्वतरांगा यांपूर्वी the आवश्यक. *the Ganga, the Himalayas*
5. 5.एकवचनी पर्वत/बेटांपूर्वी the नाही. *Mount Everest*

Prepositions

1. 1.Discuss, marry, reach, enter, resemble नंतर preposition नाही

4. 4.Comparison मध्ये पूर्ण रचना — *He is taller than I am*

Adjectives & Adverbs

1. 1.दोघांची तुलना → comparative; दोहोंहून अधिक → superlative
2. 2.Double comparative चूक. *more better* — चूक
3. 3.Very/Much — very positive सोबत, much comparative सोबत
4. 4.Elder/Eldest कुटुंबातील, older/oldest सर्वसाधारण
5. 5.Few (countable), Little (uncountable)

9. 9.Their / There / They're — अर्थानुसार वेगळे
